Christine Bauereis is a mother of three in central Massachusetts and a late-diagnosed autistic and ADHD woman who did not learn she was neurodivergent until her 30s, after two of her children were diagnosed. Her youngest, six-year-old River, is autistic and level two. On The Autism Dad Podcast's Seen and Heard series, Christine talks about how the right ADHD diagnosis and medication turned River's morning school refusal into excitement, why masking all day leads to afternoon meltdowns at home, and the Worcester food drive that became their first full day without one. She also shares how, after her district's entire SEPAC resigned, she stood up at a town meeting and said special education isn't a choice, it is a right.
